Christmas Mummy production update.

We shot a great scene today, and after watching all the raw footage everything looks great! Well done to the cast and crew for another smooth running set. We added another death scene on the fly and it turned out pretty good. We shoot one more day next week and we are done with exteriors.Then looking to crank out the interiors in 2 more days and start planning the next project. Still tons of post-production to do on The Christmas Mummy which will begin taking shape over the next few months. stay tuned...

WISCONSIN NIGHTMARES- an anthology horror movie!

WISCONSIN NIGHTMARES is a no-budget anthology horror movie currently in production. We have completed a few of the stories already, and we are shooting a segment for it right now. We like the anthology format because of the variety of content they contain, where you could see a vampire, zombie, aliens, or maybe a killer fog all in the same movie. We also like that if a story isn't working for you a new one will follow shortly thereafter. We will be making WISCONSIN NIGHTMARES throughout 2012, and will be pushing it on the fest circuit, microcinemas, online streaming and DVD.

First of all, huge thanks to cast and crew at our christmas party massacre shoot on Jan. 21st 2011. It was a 15 hour day for the crew, we didn't know if anyone was going to show up, and we were doing the biggest scene on the first day! But we adapted to the situation and used what we had, even asking a couple on a dinner date if they could play 2 quick roles that we still needed to fill during the shoot, and they did! How many times have you been out to dinner and someone says "hey, they're making a horror movie in the basement, would you like to be in it?" The cast was mostly friends and non-actors, mixed with a few more experienced actors. Don't underestimate yourself as an actor, with a little coaching through a scene, and with some repetition, most people can come close to what your looking for performance-wise. For me though, it felt good to be making another movie, because you are creating something no-one has ever seen before and when it starts to come together in the edit and sound is added, thats when all the hard work pays off. Are you a horror fan living in or around Madison Wisconsin? Would you like to make some scary movies with us this winter? We need people willing and able to show up and work with us on film shoots in November, December, and January, in front of the camera and behind the scenes; if you can work as part of a team and put in a good solid day's work for zero pay, there is most likely something we'd like your help with. You don't need to be available for the whole shoot, but the more time you can give us the better, get in touch. Loads of pre-production work needs to get done before then too, if you want to pitch in, please get in touch.

We're also looking for locations - do you have an apartment or even a room we could borrow the use of for maybe 2 full days? How about a basement, business, or house? We don't need to make a mess, we just need to be left alone to do our thing for the day.

ROB MICHELS: the Man Behind the Camera

Rob Michels has been very passionate about horror movies his entire life. In 2010 Rob and some freinds decided to make a horror short just to see what would happen. The result became known as DEMON'S LUTE, a short movie about SATAN in the form of a guitar that possesses a rocker and makes him kill his bandmates! DEMON'S LUTE was made with no money but it had a nice flow to it and was fast-paced. Rob then got more excited about making movies, and began filming another short called DEAD DRUNK, which he and Shayne White made in less than a day from start to final cut. At this point Rob was addicted to making movies, but working a full time job has tied up alot of movie-making time. However, with the right scheduling he still finds time to shoot a day here and there. He just finished his latest short FLESH-EATING FOG and is in the process of editing KILLING IS MY BUSINESS, as well as being busy in pre-production on the next project.

SHAYNE WHITE: The Guy behind the Gore.

I'd like to introduce the guy behind the gore at Screaming Like Banshees productions, Shayne White. Shayne has been hard at work over the last year reading books and learning everything he can about special make-up F/X. Shayne is completely self-taught and learns as he goes. He also is a part-time actor in most of our films. Screaming Like Banshees productions is currently shooting on extremely small budgets , and i think Shayne does the best he can with whats available.

Shayne has had the chance to stab heads, be gutted by guitar strings, be haunted by the ghost of a drunk, fight werewolves, shoot people, melt people, get choked by a hallucination, dislimb people, suffocate people, deal with Detective Donnelly, get his heart ripped out, etc. all for the sake of low-budget movie making, now thats pretty cool.

We look forward to working with Shayne on our next film, which will begin filming this spring.
